Aviation Job Growth, Prospects and Outlook in India

Potentials of the Industry

India has been guaranteed to have the third-largest aviation market by the end of the year 2024. The aviation sector in India is quite vast and thus is likely to witness a huge investment of around $15 billion which shall be divided strategically in the years 2016-20. Most of this investment is expected to come in from the major players in the private sector.

The Cabinet Committee dealing on the Economic Affairs has given an approval of the extension in terms of scope and time for reviving and developing the undeserved or the unserved airstrips using $643 million support out of the budget. There is a major level of focus of the government on developing infrastructure for modernizing the airport or improvising the air navigation system.

Job Requirements

Though the Aviation Industry for the Nation may be seeing the turbulence phase mostly because of the troubles invited by Jet Airways this cannot be called as mayday for all the professionals who are the part of top airlines in India. The sector has a deficit of around 500 pilots as has been reported in 2019. Also, there is a major requirement in terms of cabin crew as the report says the top airlines seek 1350 for people in the staff. The ground staff also calls for a major need as has been reported there are only 9200 people as on the date, against the requirement of 15,800.

All these three jobs have been projected under the high demand jobs in regards to Aviation Industry. Most of the airlines are in the mode of expansion and thus are looking forward to acquiring a figure more than 100 in terms of aircraft mostly by the end of 2020, which shall invite around 18,000 more jobs in the industry at various levels and for different functions.

It may sound like an irony, that the industry which is facing such rough weather due to an increase in the amount of taxation and fuel cost, still has such large requirement in regards to talents. This is maybe as per the statements given by experts which states that the unprecedented fleet expansions that had happened in Indian Airlines are keeping up with the demands of the talents in this sector.
